Position: Welder (Trades & Services)

Job Description

NZ Pacific Horizon Limited is a growing construction company involved in a wide range of residential and commercial projects across New Zealand. We are seeking an experienced Welder to join our team and support ongoing project demand.

Key Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

• Performing MIG, TIG, and ARC welding on various metals such as steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
• Interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Cutting, shaping, joining, and repairing metal components using welding tools and equipment.
• Operating grinders, cutters, torches, and other metal fabrication tools.
• Fabricating metal structures, frames, brackets, and components as required.
• Inspecting welds to ensure compliance with standards and identifying structural defects.
• Measuring, marking, and preparing materials for welding.
• Maintaining tools, welding equipment, and ensuring safe operation.
• Following strict health and safety rules and keeping work areas clean.
• Assisting with general construction and metalwork tasks as needed.

Applicants must have: Skills and Experience Required

1. At least 2 years of welding experience; or
2. A relevant welding or fabrication qualification (e.g., Certificate in Welding/Fabrication Level 3–4 or equivalent).
3. Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and ARC welding methods.
4. Strong ability to read engineering plans and technical drawings.
5. Good understanding of metal properties and welding standards.
6. Ability to work independently and with a team.
7. Physically fit and comfortable working in construction environments.
